Part 2 - Most Common STDs and their Symptoms
HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)
Many Sexually Active People will acquire HPV at some stage of their lives. More than 40 Types of HPV can be spread sexually. Thats a lot, isn't it? HPV typically spreads through Viginal, Anal or Oral Sex. In some cases, a simple skin-to-skin contact is good enough to spread the disease.Most types of HPV have no symptoms and cause no harm, and your body gets rid of them on its own. Some types of virus produce the following symptoms:
1. Genital Warts
2. Infection of Mouth and Throat
3. Some can cause Cancer of Cervix, Penis, Mouth or Throat.
Vaccines for HPV
There are 3 Vaccines available to prevent HPV.
1. Cevarix
2. Gardasil
3. Gardsil - 9
They protect against cancers. Gardasil and Gardasil-9 protect against Genital Warts, Vaginal and Anal Cancer. Recommended age to get these vaccines is between 11 to 26 years of age.
Syphilis
Syphilis has 4 stage.
1. Primary Stage - Sore. This often looks like a harmless bump or ingrown hair area.
2. Secondary Stage - Rashes start appearing on your body with sores in mouth, Vagina or Anus.
These symptoms subside / disappear after some time. This stage can last for a very long period such as a decade or even more.
3rd and 4th. Later Stages - Causes Organ or Nerve Damage. Due to this, problems in your brain can start appearing.
