HCG – Human Chorionic Ganodotropin (hCG) is called ‘pregnancy hormone’ because
it plays an important role in maintaining pregnancy. The pregnancy test kits that women
typically use when they miss their period checks for the presence of this hormone.
Along with women, hCG injections are also used for men to treat infertility. If a man’s body is not able to produce enough testosterone, hCG injections are used to stimulate the gonads that produce this hormone. What does testosterone do? While it is a vast subject in itself, it is an important hormone without which men can become infertile (can suffer from Erectile Dysfunction, Absence of Sperms etc).
